About this Episode

This past month, the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that a Catholic Foster Care organization could keep helping needy children. What was their "crime?" The actions that caused them to almost be litigated out of business? The fact that they believe and teach that marriage is to be between a man and a woman for life. That's it. Yes, increasingly the moral teachings of the Bible are not merely dismissed, they are being made illegal. How did we get to the point where 9 justices are now making or remaking the fundamental moral teachings of our culture, our communities, our education, even seeking to determine the teachings in our homes and in our Churches? How indeed. The 9-0 Fulton Case may be a "victory" for now, but the work to proclaim the moral teachings of the Bible for all is going to get harder in the days to come. Time to roll up our sleeves, especially amidst the small victories of the moment.

Remember, there are two kinds of fire in the world: One that burns and consumes and one that burns and empowers. May God's word and God's love burn brightly in you, giving you the strength to face any fire. Until next time, little embers!
